Dwight L. Moody said, "The best way to revive a church is to build a fire in the pulpit." A great preacher himself, Moody recognized the importance of effective preaching to the life of a healthy church. Growing a church is accomplished in the same way. As Dr. Lyle Schaller recently stated, "Ninety-six percent of first-time visitors rate memorable, motivational preaching as the number one reason for returning the next Sunday to churches."
That's why we decided to compile these sermons. We've found that the best way to start a fire in your pulpit is to borrow a hot coal from a fire that's already burning brightly. You'll find a whole bunch of "hot coals" that are tried and proven. Each sermon has been designed and preached with positive results by Dr. John C. Maxwell.
Although each sermon is capable of standing alone, the series format has the advantage of promoting continuity, as well as allowing you to build as you preach on consecutive Sundays.
